Cassidy and colleagues analysed dietary flavonoid intake and incidence of erectile dysfunction in 25,096 men over ten years of follow-up. Men with the highest intake of certain flavonoid classes had lower incidence of ED: 11 percent lower for flavanones, 9 percent for flavones, 9 percent for anthocyanins, and 14 percent for flavonoids from fruit specifically. A later analysis of the same cohort examined diet quality and erectile dysfunction across 21,469 men and found that adherence to a Mediterranean or Alternative Healthy Eating Index pattern — vegetables, fruit, nuts, legumes, fish, minimal red and processed meat — was associated with lower ED risk.

Two honest caveats. These are observational studies, so they show association rather than proof of cause, and men who eat more berries differ from men who do not in ways beyond berries. The Individual Foods, Rated Honestly

Aldemir and colleagues gave 17 men with ED 100 grams of pistachios daily for three weeks and reported improvements in erectile function scores and penile blood flow in the International Journal of Impotence Research.
